Members of the Commission

The following are members of the Research Commission:

    the director of the department.the deputy director(s) of the department, if any.
    the secretary of the department.
    The coordinators of the different doctoral and master's research programs of the department, as long as they are members of the Department Council and are not members of the committee in any other capacity.
    A Professor doctor for each Area of Knowledge member of the Department Council.
    One representative of the rest of the teaching and research staff, who is a member of the Department Council.
    One representative of the master's or doctoral students who is a member of the Department Council.

Functions

The Research Committee shall exercise, by delegation of the Department Council, the following functions:

    to prepare and submit to the Department Council reports on proposed doctoral and master's degree programs.
    to admit applicants to a doctoral program.
    to assign tutors to doctoral students.
    Admit doctoral thesis projects.
    Propose the tribunals that are to judge the doctoral theses, having heard the directors of the same.
    To establish the general lines of the department's research policy.
    To identify and promote the Research Groups of the Department.
    To express its opinion on all those matters related to research, which are submitted to its consideration by the director of the department.
    Any other matter related to research specifically delegated to it by the Department Council.

The members of the Research Committee shall be renewed as established in art. 7.5 of the Internal Regulations of the Department.
